EAC Consulting Group are working alongside a market leading distribution company based in Bedford. They are looking for a driven and methodical Buyer to join their procurement department. The Buyer will report to the Head of Procurement and take responsibility for achieving the best costing of the company’s purchases, managing tenders and RFP’s.

Job Details

  • The Buyer will ensure that competitive quotes are secured which may include reviewing suppliers.
  • Providing RFP’s, tenders, quotes and review payment terms, costs and lead times to streamline the business processes.
  • Organise current and historic price requests in accordance with department procedures.
  • Liaise closely with the Head of Procurement to ensure that the workload and market information is shared.
  • Work closely with the sales team to achieve high service levels and company targets.
  • Monitoring and disseminating market developments such as price changes and new suppliers.
  • Along with Category and Inventory Management ensure that specifications are correct and that purchases align with company policy and that any opportunities for cost improvements are achieved.
  • Attend and contribute to purchasing, sales and marketing meets while implementing the company’s policies and strategies.
  • Researching, communicating with, and visiting potential UK based and overseas suppliers while ensuring any new suppliers adhere to auditing standards.

Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to A-Level with CIPS qualification.
  • Proven purchasing and negotiation experience.
  • Experienced in providing RFP’s, tenders, quotes and cost analysis.
  • Confident and driven attitude with the ability to manage a busy and varied role.
  • Excellent negotiation and sourcing skills.
  • Ability to continually learn company products.
  • Able to create, develop and maintain relationships internally and externally. Using excellent interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Analytical with data.
  • Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced level.

Bedford

Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
