The Role

HR Advisor

Duties of the Human Resources Advisor

  • The HR Advisor will report to the MD and will support the development of the company’s people and support functions.
  • The company strives for a culture which celebrates successes and achieves results and the HR Officer will support this culture.
  • As HR Advisor you will be aware of best practices, employment legislation, statutory guidance and law. Ensuring that the company is compliant with all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements and to be vigilant in Health and Safety matters.
  • In this role the HR Advisor will develop internal communication strategies and solutions to promote a positive company life with a progressive business and people strategy.
  • Crucially the HR Advisor will develop and cultivate strong links with all department heads, managers and staff to achieve strategic objectives.
  • The HR Officer will also take responsibility for the delivery of an effective and effortless recruitment experience.
  • This HR role includes systems support and development as required, processing absences, adjustments, overtime and shift allowances.
  • The company aims for a paperless office so the HR Advisor will maintain personnel records within this environment.
  • As HR Advisor you will also be expected to support the finance team with payroll and headcount reports and other associated administrative tasks.
  • The HR Officer will manage audits and projects in relation to right to work checks, employee engagement, training and any other tasks required to support the department.

The ideal HR Advisor

  • It is essential that the HR Advisor has Level 5 CIPD or above.
  • A Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH is desirable but not essential.
  • The ideal HR Advisor will understand UK employment law and practice and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • The HR Advisor will be organised, have strong administrative skills and the ability to handle and balance priorities to deadlines.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Gmail/Google sheets.
  • Training will be provided in IRIS HR database.
  • The ideal HR Advisor will have an acute awareness of confidential and sensitive information and must possess the ability to be diplomatic and treat confidential information appropriately.
  • They must be empathetic but have a steadfast approach to processes and situations.
  • The HR Advisor will have a professional attitude and approach with the ability to build and effect relationships to achieve co-operation.
  • They will need to be flexible with their time to meet the needs of the overall business and department.
